The Boat

Narrowboat Aquarius was specially built as a restaurant trip boat in 1975 by Hancock and Lane, a well known and reputable builder. She has worked on the Coventry Canal, in Northwich and more recently on the Shropshire Union in Market Drayton. She seats 32 diners on tables for two and tables for four.

She is decorated in a red, black and white livery with traditional roses and castles artwork on the side hatches.

Power is from a four-cylinder diesel engine. This is a marinised version of an engine commonly found in black cabs!

One of several dozen photos we have of the glorious sunsets we see on our evening trips.

A cold November evening at the north end of Stone. We are about to pick up passengers for a cosy evening meal. We often have an escort of swans as they know we feed them.

These two were born and raised in Stone.
